LOS ALAMOS — November 2, 2026. Santa Barbara County Parks describes Los Alamos Park as a 51-acre public day-use area at the mouth of Drum Canyon, one of the less prominent open spaces in northern Santa Barbara County.
A county park outside the commercial center
The park provides a natural setting for local recreation and picnicking, but amenities and event bookings may differ from those in town parks maintained by the community services district.
Check before a special event
Organizers should ask County Parks whether a designated picnic area is reservable and whether amplified music, commercial use or large attendance requires an additional permit.
Conditions can change in winter
A small county day-use park may be affected by rain, fallen trees or maintenance. Check the official park directory and posted signs before visiting, especially when driving to the canyon during or after storms.
